This trail is part of the Florida Trailwalker Program. It is a loop trail around McKethan Lake. There is a brochure at the trailhead with points of interest coordinating with posted numbers along the trail providing information about the forest.
From US Hwy. 41 in Brooksville, go N for 7 miles, turn left at McKethan Lake Day Use Area sign. The entrance road is the second paved road N of the intersection of Hwy. 41 and Lake Lindsay Rd. (CR 476). The trailhead is on the right at the end of the paved one-way road that circles around the lake. From the intersection of SR 44 and US Hwy. 41 in Inverness, go S on on US Highway 41 for 12 miles. Turn right at the McKethan Lake Day Use Area sign. The entrance road is the second paved road N of the intersection of Hwy. 41 and Lake Lindsay Rd. (CR 476). The trailhead is on the right at the end of the paved one-way road that circles around the lake.
